A 56 Yr old female: Depression & Fatigue…
Jean is a widow, mother of three, grandmother of two and a social worker. She suffers from fatigue and depression. Her husband was just a few years away from retirement when he suddenly died a year ago from a massive stroke. Her depression was exacerbated at the loss of her spouse. Worries of sustaining herself and her last child at home, disharmony in her extended family and other cares have overwhelmed her, and she tires at the thought of going to work or even trying to enjoy her grandchildren. 67 yr old: History & Hopelessness
Joel is a seasoned union plumber. Though he could retire, he won’t because he loves his job so much. He has a history of heart disease in his family which has made for a few close “calls” in his life. A few years ago, he had a heart attack which eventually resulted in a double by-pass surgery and a long time in bed. Though he has been more careful since that time, Joel cannot seem to win over his excess weight. Leg and back pains continually plague Joel. He is hampered from fully performing on his job because his pain is unbearable. Trips to the chiropractor have helped little. He feels as if his whole body is imbalanced. He has lost control of his health, and his hope for recovering his health is fading...
